Product Description

This dirk has a hand carved wooden handle, the carving is inspired by a celtic weave design. The dirk is a fighting knife - its immediate forerunner was the Scottish ballock knife which was widely used in the 14th century.

The dirk was a standard issue for British Armed Forces for many years. It was evidently first issued to a member of the Highland Pipers and Drummers. Dirks were not officially abandoned as sidearms in Britain until 1939.

Size: 515mm (overall), 370mm (blade). PRICE INCLUDES a hard sheath/scabbard.
Weight: 700 grams (including sheath)
