This beautiful full tang sword features a pattern welded steel blade with a five lobed brass pommel & hilt. Pattern welding is the practice of forming a blade from several metal pieces of differing composition that are forge-welded together and twisted and manipulated to form a pattern. Often incorrectly called Damascus steel.
The general term "Damascus" refers to metal with a visible grain pattern, sometimes with a texture. The technique used to create original Damascus steel is now a matter of historical conjecture. The foundation for Damascus Steel is Wootz Steel, which originated in India and Sri Lanka and later spread to Persia.
Every blade is unique, no two blades have the same pattern.
