Can't use them without armour.

Bought these mostly to check them out, the results:
They are very tight on me (have to ensure i'm wearing very thin clothing underneath them to get them on without too much gap at the back).
They are only lightly padded and would require additional armour over the top.

I think these have good potential to be worn underneath full leg armour or something similar, however these aren't long enough to be worn under full length maille chausse nor thick enough to be worn as protection along with a short gambeson.

as an aside I dyed the white pair I bought and It came up beautifully apart from the stitching which didn't take the dye at all.
