A leather gorget/collar and bib is protection designed to protect the neck and throat. It is intended to protect against swords and other non-projectile weapons. Most medieval versions of gorgets were simple neck protectors that were frequently worn under the breastplate. It has simple leather shaping which fits its across and around the chest but forward and out.

Also a useful under garment for the weapons combat practicioner. We recomend, felt, fur or similar soft material lining of your preference around the collar. Although there are no surviving examples of defenses for the neck, in our day combatants and martial artists need the best possible protection for the fragile neck.
