Distinguished from other spears of the time by its lack of mid rib. Similar in shape to a smaller spear known as the sarissa or sarisa. The sarisa was a 4 to 7 meter (13-21 feet) long pike used in the ancient Greek and Hellenistic warfare. It was introduced by Philip II of Macedon and was used in the phalanx formation as a replacement for the earlier dory, which was considerably shorter.
Please note the spears are real and although they are blunt they are NOT toys.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When you order this spear, you will also receive a downloadable document detailing how to mount a spear head onto a pole. This information is to make it easy to prepare your spear for combat (see here for more details). Proving once again that we have the real knowledge to assist our customers.

If you want a spear head that will go through plate armour like butter, look no further. Good weight, reasonable finish, good tempering. This is a practical spear which i put through some 16g plate armour without any fuss. good purchase definately recommend.
