These heads make good late medieval or early modern period hunting/fowling arrows. The sockets are wrapped, the finish is fair but occasionally one point will need some filing to balance properly.
The myths about this type of arrowheads being used to cut ship anchor ropes can be traced back to Arthur Conan Doyle in the 19th century in his book “The White Company”.
