Simple Buckler
	A buckler is a small shield that is gripped in the fist. It was generally used as a companion weapon in hand-to-hand combat during the Middle Ages, as its size made it poor protection against missile weapons, such as arrows, but useful in deflecting the blow of an opponent's sword or mace. Roman Scutum
	Scutum is the Latin word for "shield", although it has in modern times come to be specifically associated with the rectangular, semi-cylindrical body shield carried by ancient Roman legionaries. The shield's curved shape covered the wielder's front and sides, affording excellent protection.  This shield is made predominantly out of wood with additional wooden back bracing for added strength. Domed Shield Boss (umbo)
	The boss was originally designed to deflect blows from the centre of round shields, though they also provided a place to mount the shield's grip. Ancient Shield & Sword
	This ancient kit includes a double edged sword with scabbard and Shield with handle. The sword has a beautiful smooth brass plated handle, broad straight blade and pointed tip. Scabbard is covered with suede leather and brass trimming. The shield is similar to a hoplites domed shield is design but is much smaller, it is made from steel and covered with a matching suede leather. Violin or Dipylon shield
	Similar in shape to the Persian gerrhon and Boeotian shields. Made of polished dark-drown leather with a shape similar to a violin, hence the modern name for this shield design. Viking Round Shield
	The spear and shield were the most basic armaments of the Viking warrior; most would probably also wear a knife of some description, commonly of the seax type. As an alternative, or perhaps in addition, to the spear a warrior might carry a bow or axe. Fleur de Lis Heraldic Heater Shield
	As personal body armour improved, knight's shields became smaller, leading to the familiar heater shield style. Giving them the ability to use these shields as a extra armor piece when battling in a crowded area. Both kite and heater style shields were made of several layers of laminated wood, with a gentle curve in cross section.
